When you know something has to be said, and it's a hard thing to say.
When you know that you can't talk about it
without getting emotional about it.
When you know that this person always takes
Anything you say about this subject the wrong way.
When you know that not all the responsibility is yours
But some of it is
And you want to take all of it
And you don't want to take any of it
And you know that this person will not take any,
Leaving all of it for you.
When you have sworn that you will
Never walk on eggshells again
Never be fearful of saying something again
Never have to "slant" something
So someone won't react badly.
When you know in your heart
When you know in your head
that you are making the right choice
But somewhere deep inside
Buried so deep it will take a lifetime to dig it out
You believe a lie
Because you've been told it so often
That you are wrong.
That you don't know what you're doing.
Dear God,
Give me clarity.
Give me strength.
Help me to see
where you want me to go.
One step at a time.
Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying, “This is the way; walk in it.” [Isaiah 30:21, NIV]
"Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” [Joshua 1:9, NIV]
