There's fear, and then there's fear. For example, "Then those who feared and loved the Lord spoke often of him to each other." (Malachi 3:16) In that regard, fear is not fear, but rather a healthy respect.
But real fear? Why would I fear what He will do for me? Is it not more so that I fear making a mistake and leaving the path He would choose for me?
Should I, rather, have a spirit of adventure? What wonderful things will God be doing in my life today? How will He show His awesome ways to me or to others through me?
We need have no fear of someone who loves us perfectly; his perfect love for us eliminates all dread of what he might do to us. If we are afraid, it is for fear of what he might do to us and shows that we are not fully convinced that he really loves us." [1 John 4:18--TLB]
